Three legendary cafes in Jakarta that are decades old and still exist until today.

Who doesn't like ice cream? This kind of dessert is liked by almost everyone since long time ago. So do not be surprised if there are several ice cream shops that are decades old and still exist until today, including in Jakarta. If you are an ice cream fan, let's enjoy ice cream while reminiscing in these following three legendary cafes!

1. Ragusa
Speaking of the legendary ice cream cafe in Jakarta, it can’t be separated from Ragusa. Because, this cafe is the oldest ice cream cafe in Jakarta and still survive today. Ragusa has existed since 1932 and was founded by Italian duo, Luigi Ragusa and Vicenzo Ragusa.

Previously, Ragusa only sold its ice cream once a year, precisely when Gambir Market was held or what is now known as Jakarta Fair. Only in 1947, Ragusa had its own cafe located in Citadelweg, now Jalan Veteran I No. 20, Central Jakarta.

The most interesting thing from this legendary ice cream cafe is the interior of the room and cutlery that are still old school. The most favorite ice cream in Ragusa is Tutti Frutti and Cassata Siciliana.

2. Tropik
Tropik has been established since 1950s. The location is between Sushila Hijab and Accessories and Bombay Textile store. This ice cream shop is also facing with Tonnico Textile Tailor. The exterior is dominated by light blue, while the interior is dominated by white, brown, and orange.

Comes with 16 choices of flavors, the price offered for a portion of Tropic ice cream is quite affordable, starting from Rp. 23,000 to Rp. 47,000. For the lowest price, you can choose milk ice cream and green tea ice cream. As for the most expensive ice cream is a variant of fruit and banana flavor ice cream.

3. Es Teler Sari Mulia
The location of this ice shop is in Metropole Cinema complex, Cikini, Central Jakarta. Es Teler Sari Mulia is a legendary es teler in Jakarta that has existed since 1960s and is claimed to be the first ice teler in Indonesia. Uniquely, right next to Es Teler Sari Mulia there is also a place to eat that is no less legendary, Pempek Megaria.

The appearance of Sari Teler Sari Mulia is quite simple and not much different from other ice teler. Priced at Rp. 22,000, a glass of es teler filled with young coconut, jackfruit, avocado, and sweetened condensed milk.
