This savoury snack becomes one of delicious snacks you can easily find along the roadside. Cakue is a long golden-brown deep-fried strip made of flour with crispy skin on the outside and soft on the inside. If you are visiting Pasar Baru for any kind of needs, make sure you stop by this legendary cakue.

Not to mention the crowd which always lining up in front of this modest kiosk. Behind the door, Ko Atek make and sell his homemade cakue. He prepares the dough inside small cubicle where you can also find him kneading the dough with bottle, pulling to make it larger and cut into pieces of cakue dough before frying.

Then, what makes this cakue famous? It has crispy texture on the outside while hollowing part on the inside taste soft yet fluffy. Even you stand for hours after buy, the texture will not change after all.

To complete your pieces of cakue, Ko Atek make sauce with sour, slightly sweet and spicy made of combination of vinegar and chilli. It definitely makes your cakue taste way more better.

Along with cake, Ko Atek also make kue bantal (pillow cake) which has sweet taste in right amount of sweetness. Both cakue and kue bantal cost for Rp5.000 per piece. It opens daily from 10 am to the afternoon. It is highly recommended to come as early as you can especially on weekend. If you come late and find a long queue, you will not feel bored at all, thanks to the live cooking by Ko Atek himself.
