The government has officially cut end of 2020 holidays by three days. Previously, the year-end holiday would last for 11 days, from 24 December 2020 to 1 January 2021. The long holiday was a combination of Christmas national holidays, Christmas mass leaves, substitute Eid al-Fitr mass leaves, and 2021 new year national holiday.
On Tuesday (01/12/2020), the government has decided to cut the substitute of Eid al-Fitr mass leaves on 28 to 30 December. Thus, the year-end long holiday was cut by three days.
"Thus, technically there is a reduction in holidays and mass leave by 3 days, 28, 29, and 30," said Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy in a virtual press conference, on Tuesday (12/1/2020).
The following is the latest schedule for year-end holidays:
Thursday, 24 December 2020: Mass Leave for Christmas
Friday, 25 December 2020: Christmas Holiday
Thursday, 31 December 2020: substitute of Eid al-Fitr mass leave
Friday, 1 January 2021: New Year's Holiday 2021
This reduction in mass leaves was a direction from President Joko Widowo last November, which was followed up by the Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy. This decree was also signed by three ministers, MenPAN-RB, Menaker, and Menag.
