The most favorite hobbies during the new normal period.

After Check In Jakarta previously have discussed favorite activities during #stayathome, this time we will discuss other most favorite hobbies during the new normal period. What are those?
 
1. Cycling
You could say cycling is now become a new hobby for most people in big cities, including in Jakarta. Even according to a survey from The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), the number of cyclists in the capital city is estimated to increasing by up to 10 times. The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has also provided bicycle lanes for approximately 60 kilometers.

Cycling is a new hobby during the new normal because bike is considered as the safe transportation from the risk of COVID-19 transmission, as well as being healthy activity and eco-friendly.

2. Gardening
At the beginning of the pandemic, people were asked to #stayathome as an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. During that time, people were doing various activities to drive away their bored while at home, such as gardening.

The limited land condition is handled by utilizing the remaining land at home (urban farming). Seasoning plants and vegetables are the most favorited types of plants because they can help people meet their food needs without having to buy, and it can also decorate their homes.

Various methods such as hydroponic, verticulture, and tambulampot make it easy for people who want to gardening in their home despite limited land condition.

3. Decorating House

Not a few people also fill their free times during #stayathome by decorating their houses such as painting walls, making shelves, renovating rooms, etc. In addition to spending time, decorating house also aims to make the house more comfortable and pleasing to the eyes. Especially for people who work from home, they definitely need a neat room to be more focused when working.
