When someone asks you, “What is the signature dish of Jakarta?”, you may say gado-gado as one of the answers. This mixed vegetables salad with peanut sauce is indeed one of Jakarta’s exquisite dishes.

Even at a glance, all the gado-gado taste seem similar from one to another. But Gado-Gado Bonbin is different. This legendary gado-gado is served with special peanut sauce. The usual peanut sauce is made by fried peanuts grinded with other ingredients. But for Gado-Gado Bonbin, the peanut is roasted and peeled to create thicker taste. They also add emping crackers for the side dish which makes them different to usual gado-gado.

Bonbin becomes so popular not only because of its delicious taste but also the location and unique history. Already been there for nearly 50 years, this place is called Bonbin because the location is near a zoo recreation spot in the past.

Although the zoo is now already moved to Ragunan, but Gado-Gado Bonbin is still using the name to create a memorable identity for either the loyal customers from long time ago or the new customers.
