Most Indonesians like instant noodles. No wonder there are now many instant noodle brands popping up. It cannot be denied, instant noodles do have good taste and come in various flavors, so there are other options if you are bored with the same taste. In addition, the easy way of serving it also makes instant noodles become the most favorited food if people are lazy to cook or are thrifty.
Unfortunately, behind all those pleasures, instant noodles have been proven to be able to trigger some health problems if consumed in excess. Here are some reasons why this kind of fast food is not good for frequent consumption:
1. Contains Bad Fat
In instant noodles, there are bad fats, such as saturated fatty acid and trans fat. If consumed in excess, these substances can increase cholesterol levels in the blood, which can increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
2. Difficult to Digest
Instant noodles take a long time for the body to digest, so that it becomes a burden for digestive process. It can also interfere with blood sugar levels and insulin release. In addition, the preservative content in it can also trigger asthma, anxiety and diarrhea if too much is consumed.
3. Contains High Salt
The salt in instant noodles is very high. Research in 2014 by the American Journal of Hypertension proved that high salt consumption is the leading cause of death in the world. The reason is, consuming excessive salt can cause high blood pressure and heart disease. Both are types of "silent killer" diseases.
