You might be not too familiar with this term, recreational literacy, but basically it is a simple way to make a library as recreation place you can visit every day in your free time. In Jakarta, there are so many homey libraries have a complete selections of good books like this one, Freedom Institute.

This independent library which previously located on Jalan Proklamasi occupies a new location at Wisma Bakrie 1, Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. Even it located between office buildings, right after you are walking through room, it feels like entering someone’s home. Calm yet comfortable ambience welcoming your visit.

Freedom Institute at least has 10,000 book titles from various interesting categories you can enjoy while visiting this library with family or friends. To increase the interest of reading books, instead of just making library itself as recreational place for children, adults and parents, Freedom Institute also offering you more spacious room to explore than previous location, make your free time more enjoyable.

Freedom Institute open every day, Monday to Friday at 9.30am to 5 pm and Saturday at 10am to 5pm. For those who want to gain knowledge by a book can visit Freedom Institute by taking TransJakarta Corridor 6 Ragunan – Dukuh Atas 2 or commuter line Tanah Abang – Jatinegara or Bogor and get off at Sudirman station.
