Jakarta Fashion Week 2021 Officially Opened Virtually

JFW 2021 will focus on the creativity of 60 Indonesian fashion designers as well as become a mirror of their inspiring activism.

Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2021 was officially opened on Thursday (26/11/2020). Unlike the previous years, this time JFW is held in a virtual format. This is because the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening in Indonesia, so it is not possible to hold it live.
 
Launching the JFW.TV page, the fashion week which has been held for the 13th time has entered a new era with an all-digital format. JFW 2021 will focus on the creativity of 60 Indonesian fashion designers as well as become a mirror of their inspiring activism.
 
The brands that appeared at the opening show of JFW 2021 are Bateeq, Toton, Nadjani, HAM! Jeansku, Super Setimental Secret Theory, 3Mongkis, Shoes by CLOXVOX, Warning Clothing, Yosafat Dwi Kurniawan, Albert Yanuar, Tities Sapoetra, Batik Chic, KAMI., Lekat, ETU, CottonInk, Jenahara, Rani Hatta, SOE Jakarta, AI Syarif 1965, Bima Wijaksana, Calla The Label, Eureka, Hattaco, Amotsyamsurimuda, Iwan Tirta Private Collection, Everyday, Wilsen Willim, andn Major Minor.
 
While the designers involved include 3Mongkis, Aje, Amotsyamsurimuda, Ai Syarif 1965, Albert Yanuar, Andersson Bell, Barli Asmara, Bateeq, Batik Chic, Bima Wijaksana, Calla The Label, CloxVox, Cotton Ink, Cynthia Odelia (LaSelle College Student), ETU, Eureka, Everday, HAM! Jeansku, Iwan Tirta, Jan Sober, Jenahara, Kami, Lekat, Lulu Luthfi Labibi, and many more.
 
On the first day, Jakarta Fashion Week 2021 also held a Tribute to Barli Asmara fashion show, which was divided into two sequences. The first sequence presents 24 collections from Barli Asmara archive, showcasing his work over the past 18 years. While the second sequence presents 24 new collections that show how Barli Asmara label will continue to develop in the future.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has also changed the order of the fashion world. Various adjustments are made, including utilizing digital platforms," ​​explained Director of Jakarta Fashion Week Lenni Tedja, in a virtual press conference held some time ago.
 
Lenni also hopes that people can enjoy a series of JFW 2021 events through the channels that have been provided such as www.jfw.tv, several Jakarta Fashion Week media accounts, and media partners platforms.
