Want to taste something different this weekend? What about trying Dutch specialties? No need to go to the Netherlands, in Jakarta there are many restaurants offering appetizing Dutch specialties. These are five of them.

1. Goedkoop
Since 2013, Goedkoop has enlivened Bendungan Hilir neighborhood. With the slogan "Warung Kopi Belanda", until now Goedkoop is always crowded by visitors. Especially after hour and weekend. The atmosphere at this coffee shop is lively. You will find a mix of modern and ancient interiors. There are parts using Dutch-style furnitures, but there are also touches of Indonesian wood carvings.

For the menu, Goedkoop offers a wide range of food and drinks at affordable prices. As the name implies in Dutch, Goedkoop means "cheap". In the menu list there are several signature Dutch food, such as Koffie Verkeerd, Classic Bitter Ballen, Chocolademelk, Huzaren Salad, Poffertjes, Patate and various Pannekoek.

If you are interested in trying Dutch menu, you can choose Classic Bitter Ballen (Rp 32.000). This menu has five golden brown breaded Bitter Ballen balls with mosterd or mustard sauce. Deep fried bread flour is crispy. While the filling tastes creamy savory just like ragout. The chopped meat in it also tastes strong. While it feels slightly sour with a creamy texture, and a little curry flavor. Suitable to match Bitter Ballen's salty.

2. Huize Van Wely
Having a modern interior design, Huize Van Wely will make you feel like home. The neat layout will also makes you want to taking photos at every corner. A perfect combination of white and dark wood floor give luxury look when you enter the room. Here, you can sample very tempting Dutch food such as Crochets, Bitterballen, Saucijzenbroodje, Rookworst, and Dutch Pea Soup.

3. Bistik Delaris
For those living or passing through Fatmawati neighbourhood in South Jakarta, can stop by this restaurant and try their Dutch steak. With its open space and classic concept, you will like this place. Bistik Delaris serves Dutch, Javanese and Indonesian specialties. One of the best menus is Autentik Bistik Komplit (Rp 37.500), Indonesian and Dutch fusion. Served with potatoes, and stew soup, complete with gehakt which means ground meat in Dutch.

4. Cafe Batavia
Carrying a colonial-style vintage theme, this cafe has been around since 1993, but the building has been around since the 1850s, during the Dutch colonial era. Most of the furnitures used are made from Javanese teak wood produced in the late 19th century. There are also antique lights that adorn the cafe ceiling. For those who like OOTD photos, there is a spot on the second floor with so many photos neatly arranged on the wall All of these photos are private collections of cafe owner.

For the menu, Café Batavia offers Western, Asian and Indonesian menus. Of course here you can also enjoy Dutch specialties, such as Uitsmijter, Bitter Ballen, Erwten Soup, and Dutch Veal Tender.

The Dutch menu that you can enjoy here including Husarensla, Bruinebonen Soep, Tomaten Soep, Biterballen, and Bistik Lidah that are worth a try..
