Here, you can choose beef or jeroan (offal), both has been boiled before served. Soto Jakarta Bang Madun looks similar to Soto Betawi. Even it has similar looks while served, Soto Jakarta Bang Madun has brown colour while Soto Betawi has white soup.
Then, what makes Soto Jakarta Bang Madun has brown colour? Before served, it added grounded roasted peanuts without any salt so it has original salty taste from its oil (while being roasted).
The soup (made of coconut milk) is poured into the bowl twice, then added some seasonings such as salt, lime juice, grounded roasted peanuts, emping (chips), leeks, tomatoes, sweet soy sauce and last poured soup).
Combination of coconut milk and grounded roasted peanuts make this bowl of soto looks so mouth-watering and give savoury aroma. The cuts of beef or offal are tender. To make your favourite bowl taste more delicious, do not hesitate to add another drip of lime juice and pickles.
