The First Hotel with Floating Transparent Swimming Pool

Another boutique hotel in Jakarta, Posto Dormire Hotel which comes with industrial and museums concept in its interior design. The name of Posto Dormire itself is taken from Italian which means a place to sleep or rest. The design of the hotel in Grogol area is somewhat unique because it combines industry, art and history concepts.

The hotel building is dominated by wood and brass. Furthermore, there are also murals by local artist and old vintage original materials decorating hotel, such as a sewing machine, suitcase, camera, to an ancient typewriter which are collections of Posto Dormire owners. Visitors who come can feel the factory atmosphere, and the museum as well.

Posto Dormire hotel provides 80 rooms consisting of three types of rooms, Standard, Deluxe, and Suite. Each type has different room design but still maintains an industrial theme. The rate per night starting at Rp. 460,000. For facilities, this boutique hotel in Jakarta provides a meeting room fit for 100 people, a 24-hour restaurant, a rooftop café and a swimming pool.

The swimming pool at Posto Dormire is special, because it won the MURI’s record as the first floating transparent swimming pool in Indonesia. The swimming pool is made of acrylic as thick as 24 cm and has a depth of 1.2 meters, can withstand loads of up to 40 tons with a 10.4 meters length, and 3 meters width.

This swimming pool is on the third floor and hangs about five meters above the ground. The location juts into the outside, from the lobby to the hotel balcony. So when visitors swim, can see the state of the hotel lobby, and vice versa.
