In this new version, The Powerpuff Girls are told that they are already 20s who feel disappointed because they lost their childhood due to being too focused on fighting crimes. The project was handled by writer Heather and executive producers Regnier and Diablo Cody. As for Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden are lined up to become executive producers through Berlanti Productions.
The original version of The Powerpuff Girls was created by Craig McCracken. In the series, Professor Utonium accidentally creates three elementary school girls named Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. He created the three little superheroes by combining sugar, spices, and all that was good, as well as the mysterious Chemical X.
The series ran for six seasons, from 1998 to 2005. In 2002, Powerpuff Girls the Movie was also released.
